Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods codename: The ladies man. Or sex addict as he refers to himself more commonly. Is a good first example of a athlete who's legacy has been tarnished. His societal crime was sleeping with over a dozen women while being a married man with children. No doubt Tiger Woods broke a lot of boundaries in golf, holds longtime records on courses has won seemingly all there is to win in golf had all the sponsors in the world,he seemed to be the Tom Brady of golf. This scandal however really says something about who people really are and how well they can hide it. The question to pose is, is a man as influencial  and powerful as Tiger Woods was it more his fault or does society's ideals play a part in his behavior?

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson one of the more controversial athletes on this list because I'd argue that now Tyson has reformed his image, but his legacy is forever damaged. There is no doubt in my mind that in heavyweight boxing there will never be another boxer with the kind of tenacity that Mike Tyson had. However the things Tyson said in his pre and post fight speeches will haunt his legacy. Also Tyson had been pretty vocal about his cocaine use even right before fights. Also the rape conviction will hang over his head as well, even though to this day he firmly denies ever raping Desiree Washington. If your looking at his life the way he talked to women was just wrong and is not a model for children or anyone for that matter. Now my question to you is has Tyson changed your perception of him over the later part of his life with all he has done after fighting.

Mike Vick

Mike Vick's legacy will certainly surround his elaborate dog fighting ring. It is well known that Mike Vick was very well aware of a dogfighting ring jealous sponsored. Before that he is a favorite among football fans as the best mobile quarterback of our time. He has since reformed and is still an active quarterback in the NFL. However more people often hold a more than blatant hate for Mike Vick because he used completely innocent dogs to make monetary gains.  Do you think if Vick was running say an illegal man vs. man fight league society would have demonized him as bad as they did when he was caught for this?  My opinion is that he would've been like a two day meme fest and forgotten but with animals he'll always carry that stigma.

Lance Armstrong

Lance Armstrong almost the only known cyclist to ever exist. Who's story was nearly the most inspirational story ever had it not been for the doping scandal to break. Lance's story really seemed to break people's spirits as he was a man who defeated cancer and seemingly won the tour de France more times in a row than anyone ever. In a sport that has really just one true star for a story to break like this damages the sport irreversibly as it is a near unwatchable sport but we all knew that Lance was but a god in that sport. So when you tarnish you're only star the entire sport has to adjust and seemingly create another cycling hero but to do that will take a very long time and I don't think the sport can fully recover from the damage cause by Lance. Do you think that the cancer community or the cycling community are losing more in the loss of the how Lance's story?

Aaron Hernandez

You done messed up A-aron. Key and Peeler fans should get that one. Well recently convicted and highly talented tight end for the New England Patriots Aaron Hernandez is one of the sadder stories of an ego maniac to me. As he awaits trial for the other double homicide he may have been involved in we look at him and ask why? Why when you're such a talent apart of one the most successful franchises ever would you ever be involved in some of the things like drugs and violence that he was into. He's been associated with being a gang member but do you think his gang influences had anything to do with his actions, or do you think there was something else that drove him to commit these acts of violence and abuse?

Anderson "The Spider" Silva

Anderson Silva after testing recently for PEDS has lost a lot of longtime fans and fellow competitors turning away from his famed legacy. Anderson Silva most definitely transformed the sport of mixed martial arts. He has performed near unrepeatable performances like the one depicted in the photo above. However Anderson after breaking his leg in a rematch fight for his title came back and fought Nick Diaz for five rounds to which after he tested positive from an anabolic steroid. Anderson by most is considered to be one of the best of all time in mma, hold numerous records for bonuses, and championship defenses and has even been successful moving up in weight class. Before this one fight which was his last fight Anderson in his illustrious career failed 0 drug tests. However all athletes agree it calls into question all of his victories. My question to the readers is it fair to assume he was always cheating considerring that only recently has the UFC been fighting PEDs?

Cristiane "Cyborg" Justiano

Before the now famous Ronda Rousey was considered the queen of WMMA all eyes were on Cyborg Santos. However she tested positive for a steroid, and after lied about it and said she was taking a new diet pill to help her weight cut which turned out to be false. She did this write when women's MMA was just starting to get going and she was the flagship. She has since passed future drug tests but her timing of when she failed could not have been worse. As WMMA was not in the premier organization the UFC, at the time WMMA was being pushed on the UFC because of this chsmpion. So when she failed the drug tests she already has this kind of over muscley type physique so even brought everything into question. So the question I have to ask is if the super fight between Ronda Rousey and Cyborg ever happens even if Cyborg wins is Ronda going to be considered the flagship girl or will Cyborg claim her top spot?
